Getbhavcopy version 2.1.7a released

With the number of issues faced by the community with Getbhavcopy version 2.1.6a I felt it would be best to release a new version, but in doing so, it would make sense to have some functionality released in the new version rather than simply rebuild version 2.1.6a.
So I am releasing version 2.1.7a that fixes the issue with BSE Indices data download which has been broken since a long time.
Additionally, I used this opportunity to completely automate mybuild process and with that also fixed the issue that caused Getbhavcopy version 2.1.6a to be falsely detected as a virus by some antivirus softwares. The root cause of the problem was the way in which ConfuserEX packed a protected executable.
So before releasing 2.1.7a to the community I checked the executable using VirusTotal and can confirm that it is not being falsely detected as virus. The analysis results are in the below link

Feel free to check the file build version and MD5 checksums with the one in the VirusTotal link above to ensure that everything is good.

Dear Hemen Bhai,First of all Wishing U A Happy New Year & Thanking U for taking some time out from ur busy schedule to resolve nse indices data not downloading due to there name change by NSE. Ur previous version 2.1.6a is working wonderfully and as per requirement with BSE Sensex,100,200 & 500 data which it is getting from Yahoo instead of BSE itself. Newer version is fantastic with NSE data as it it faster and consuming low internet bandwidth also but sorry to say newer version is totally unable to download bse indices data and even it takes a lot of time to create bse bhavcopy also.I think this error is not from software's side because some time bse itself is unable to produce data by showing error codes. So, I've a request and a suggestion for U that if possible plz give both options for user to choose that whether he or she is comfortable with getting data with Yahoo Finance! or BSE site. Till then if possible please re enable getbhavcopy version 2.1.6a also that user comfortable with bse indices data from yahoo finance site will download them from it.

option-to-download-bse-indices for the same. Feel free to wathc it for progress.

I am debugging it with another Getbhavcopy member, Loganathan at the bitbucket link mentioned in the thread below. You can follow the same to keep tab on the progress.

Where are you downloading it from ? Only use the links on the Download page on Getbhavcopy.com to download your files.

@ Loganathan, I tested downloading data from 21 Dec to 25th Dec using the latest version and it downloaded the data flawlessly for 21 to 24th and gave the below issue for 25th, which is expected as exchanges are closed due to Christmas holiday.
So I am unable to reproduce the issue that you report below. Can you search the blogs where i explain how to troubleshoot Getbhavcopy in Debug mode. That will provide more information into the issue.

Well actually I did explored that option...
even after downloading data for 5 years, i Can still just see data for 2 years only ....in metastock in which i have converted using the downloader software into the required metastock format.
Can we discuss this in the forum and not on this blog post ?

Getbhavcopy.dbf is not longer needed. Which version of Getbhavcopy are you using ?

In the options window of Getbhavcopy, de-select the checkbox to download data for BSE, and then complete for NSE. Going by volumes NSE data is much better than BSE.
Sir is there any change in Getbhavcopy.dbf. I could not start bhavcopy application.
