Getbhavcopy version 2.1.9a, which i released couple of days back, did happen to resolve the issues with NSE data download for most of the users. However users still using Windows XP were reporting the following error message while trying to download data with version 2.1.9a:
Message Error checking version support for Getbhavcopy using static file.
Message The underlying connection was closed: An unexpected error occurred on a send.
Getbhavcopy version 2.1.10a is being released to address this issue such that Windows XP users will be able to use Getbhavcopy.
Note to users still using Windows XP :
With Microsoft no longer supporting Windows XP, most websites are implementing HTTPs certificates that remove support for the RC4 cipher - the best one in Windows XP. With the servers no longer supporting it, XP was unable to communicate with Github over HTTPs.

It is a matter of time as other sites will also follow suite and if NSE/BSE do this upgrade, then there is no way Getbhavcopy will work on your machine.
So i request Windows XP users to upgrade their OS. Moreover in future versions of Getbhavcopy I cannot gurantee Windows XP support.

Having some issues with publishing the downlods page, so the link there still points to 2.1.9a. Use the above link to download 2.1.10a

Sure Dear, Will do it as sooner as possible...
Thanks Chirag, I do not keep track of all the indices etc. Can I ask one help from you since you seem to have a good idea of things?
Can you open a new issue - https://github.com/hemenkapadia/Getbhavcopy/issues
In the issue highlight this point. Additionally, I have one more ask from you. Getbhavcopy downloads the data from https://www.nseindia.com/products/content/equities/indices/histor
ical_index_data.htm.
You can see the list of indices that are available in the dropdown page. If you can create a table in the issue that you open in Github in the below format, that would be grateful
NSE HISTORICAL DATA SYMBOL ---- GETBHAVCOPY SYMBOL
e.g.
NIFTY 50 ---- NSENIFTY
I will ensure the mapping is taken care in next release

Dear Hemen, I'm very grateful for your quick responses in sorting our issues regarding getbhavcopy. The new updated version of software is working flawlessly. But I want to bring a small issue under your consideration. On 1st April,2016 NSE changed names of their NSE MIDCAP 100 & NSE SMALLCAP 100 index into NIFTY FREE FLOAT MIDCAP 100 & NIFTY FREE FLOAT SMALLCAP 100. So, we were unable to download data for these two indices after 1st April through getbhavcopy. You tried to fix the issue in your updated 2.1.9a & 2.1.10a version , but instead of downloading data of NIFTY FREE FLOAT MIDCAP 100 under symbol NSEMIDCAP & NIFTY FREE FLOAT SMALLCAP 100 under symbol NIFTYSMALL100 software is downloading data of NIFTY FULL MIDCAP 100 & NIFTY FULL SMALLCAP 100, hence OHLC mismatches with previous data. I hope sorting this issue is not a big deal for U so please fix it whenever U are free.
Regards,
Chhirag Kedia
