Hello!

I have downloaded NSE_20081213_ACSII.zip to get historical NSE data in Metastock format.

When I am extracting, it gives .csv files in the names of individual stocks eg reliance.csv

How do I integrate this data with the EOD data that I already have since June 2008 till date?

Can you please post a step-by-step IDIOT'S GUIDE to help?

Please help.

Thanks and Regards,

Suprotim

Hello Hemem,

I have installed your program after installing the .net prog. I also downloaded the metastock compilation till 13 or 14Dec 2008. I have started the download from the next date till current date. In the download folder i notice that the new files are in txt format. Will Getbhavcopy prog convert these to  Metastock format?

By the way the program is neat.

I must commend your zeal to provide the setup for people like us.

Thanks.

Best Regards.

Karanbir :)

Hi Vinod. Did you download all 8 parts and unpacked with WinRaR? You must be able to see the files in MS immediately.

Vinod if you want you can download from the link above on rapidshare. There are two zip files one for GroupA and another for the rest of scrips. The data is current as of 12th August 2009.

BSE has changed the order of data. This is causing the issue. There is no easy fix for this unless BSE fixes it back.

To avoid hitting this issue make sure you download the data every day for BSE. Historical will not work.

Hi,

I have compiled historical NSE and BSE data in Metastock format and have uploaded it to Rapishare. This data is compatiable with Getbhavcopy i.e. you can use Getbhavcopy to downloade daily EOD data from NSE and BSE servers and update it.

Dear Mr. Hemen, I have downloaded historical data and updated data till current date. I was able to do so without any hitch, but my BSE data has only the numerical symbols for several securities and security name is not displayed. What should I do? Thanks.

Dear Naresh,

That is how the BSE data is stored on the BSE servers & since GBC downloads data from the servers as is without any changes and thus you see numerical symbols

Dear Hemen, Thanks for making such a nice software to get data. But our Bhavcopy Version 2.5 is very slow. It hangs a lot. Plz do something if you can to make it faster.  Thanks.

Hi Hemen,

I have searched through the documentation/blogs/forums and yet cannot understand how to import/transfer the historical data to MS 10. Using the steps of goto file open the folder containing the data i can see all the NSE stocks but how can i make them a part of the MS database, so that if i download eod data going forward it all becomes one database.

I am sure the explanation is there on the site as mentioned by you again and again in the posts but can you explain the steps or point me to the exact location of the explanation. I have spent the last 4 hours going through the site but cannot find it.

All i am trying to do is incorporate the historical data into MS 10 so that if i use bhavcopy for eod data going foward everything will be in order.

Appreacitae your help,

Thanks
